What Does it Mean to Become Better Than Rich?

Blog Post Template 1.png

Let’s face it, there isn’t one amongst us who doesn’t want to be rich.

I’m not saying that it’s your primary aim in life, your sole focus, your highest calling, or even that you spend too much of your daily life thinking about it.

But if I gave you $10 million dollars, I doubt you’d decline.

That’s why it’s fascinating that we’re here to explore what it means to be Better Than Rich, because - well - being rich ain’t half bad.

Since our company’s inception a lot of people have intuitively sensed what Better Than Rich stands for and what we aim to do for people, but as we launch into 2020 and as our brand begins to expand our content and offerings to more-and-more folks I thought I’d seek to fill you in and what it means to me.

As I pondered the simplest way to express what it means to be Better Than Rich, 3 simple terms came to mind for me.

  • Fulfillment

  • Connection

  • Growth

#1: Fulfillment

At it’s core, being Better Than Rich means being fulfilled.  It’s so common these days that it’s almost become an archetypal figure for us in modern society: the rich, stressed, over-worked and ultimately miserable “success story”.

Maybe you’re even there now or at least headed in that direction; Going through the motions, living for the weekend, or simply finding a way to keep going.

This archetypal modern American worker is anything but fulfilled. At best, he/she is distracted and amused by the various forms of entertainment we tend substitute these days for genuine satisfaction.

If you can relate to this “modern American worker” then you’re in the right spot. It doesn’t mean finding fulfillment is easy, but there is a path and we’re excited you’ve found us so you can begin to walk it.

In my opinion, it all starts with purpose and somehow connecting what you’re doing on a daily basis to something that matters to you. That’s why our Free Course: First Step to Purpose, is designed to lay the groundwork for you begin your journey to finding fulfillment and becoming Better Than Rich.

#2: Connection

We are living in lonely times.

It’s strange that we’re more “connected” than ever, but that feeling connected remains so foreign to us.

This is not just anecdotal, but pretty much every major news outlet has covered the “loneliness epidemic” and if you’re a Millennial reading this, you’re feeling it the worst according to a recent YouGov poll.

Becoming Better Than Rich means finding deep connections again with others and with yourself. But why are connections important?

Because they help lead you to fulfillment.

Connection means putting the phone down every once and while, getting a bird’s-eye-view on your life, and stopping to smell the roses. It means cherishing the small moments of life and not just the big victories, accomplishments, and deals closed at the office.

It means having (at least a little bit) of balance. It means having community to both challenge and support you when you need it.

Again, I get it. Life’s tough. Hours are long. The mortgage or rent isn’t going to pay itself.

But we’d hate to see you go another 20, 30, or 40 years before you wake up and start finding some enjoyment and connection in your life. Oftentimes, at that point, it’s too late.

#3: Growth

Much like connection is a means to an end, so too is growth.

We’re hard-wired for growth. We can hardly stand being around other people who aren’t growing and progressing themselves let alone look ourselves in the mirror if we’re not consistently moving forward.

Growth means challenging yourself outside of your comfort zone.

It’s cliché as all get out, but it ‘s a cliché for a reason.

You’re going to thrive and feel most alive when you’re on the edge of your comfort zone. That’s why it’s deeply embedded into our curriculum and community, so you’re constantly reminded to test your limits.

What would you be capable of if you truly explored your potential?

There’s no telling what you might accomplish, what problems you may be able to solve, and what impact you may be able to make.

So it’s now officially been stated: Becoming Better Than Rich is about living a fulfilled, connected, and growth-oriented life. If this sounds interesting to you, do sign-up to chat with our team or at least take advantage of our Free Course. You have nothing to lose.
